Science Week 2020
At the end of November, the schools held a STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) week. The purpose of the week was to celebrate science and learn all of the great things you can do with STEM.
During the week, pupils learnt about coding where they were given a robot mouse and could create a path for it to take by loading the information onto the device. As the pupils became more comfortable with the technology the routes become more and more complex.
There was also a class activity around bridge building where they had to make a free-standing bridge using everyday items like kitchen role tubes and cardboard. Some of our Sixth Formers got creative using things they could find in the classroom like chairs and yoga mats.
Other activities took place throughout the week with pupils experimenting on materials that change texture and shape as they got into the science spirit!
