Collaboration with Hedgewood School

Over the course of today and tomorrow (28th & 29th January 2019) we have welcomed two Supervisors from Hedgewood School to come and observe Park House teaching practices. Hedgewood School initially got in touch with BeyondAutism Schools to discuss their use of EFL (Essential for Living).

Karen Talty, ABA Consultant, and Rich LeRoy, Deputy Head, have previously visited Hedgewood to speak to some of their senior staff about EFL and how to integrate it into their plans. We were able to discuss our experience of using EFL and how we adapted it to our needs with their Supervisors running the EFL classrooms. We have also shared examples of how we incorporate EFL into our IEPs (Individual Education Plan) and daily planning.

On their visit to Park House, the Hedgewood Supervisors will be observing classes and looking at specific programmes that we are running. We will also have problem solving sessions with them to support and ongoing issues they may have.

This link is an invaluable one for us to enable us to continue developing our practice and procedures as part of our dedication to delivering excellence.
